Wryter: Building AI Screenwriter and a Suite of Generative AI Apps
Client: Wryter Inc., maker of AI-powered creative writing tools Our role: Lead engineering and architecture Scope: AI Screenwriter application, additional AI apps, design, pitch decks, engineering staffing
The Challenge
Wryter had an early prototype for an AI screenwriting tool and a vision for a broader generative AI suite for creators. It had no production system, no scalable architecture, and it needed to demo to both investors and paying users.
What We Did
- AI Screenwriter: built out the web application and led its UI/UX foundation, including the landing page, dashboard, and profile
- Writing tools: a first-draft generator, screenplay editor, screenplay analysis and coverage, AI rewrite and revision assistants, a beat board, a character creator, and table reads with AI voices
- Platform work: analytics, end-to-end testing, and admin features
- Write-Away: a second AI writing assistant built from scratch, with a screenplay-aware editor, AI-guided editing across a whole document, research and planning modes, version history, and subscriptions
- Team: recruited and staffed multiple engineers onto the project
- Design and fundraising: product design, brand assets, and the pitch decks used with investors
Outcome
Demos of the products landed both paying clients and investors, and the engagement grew from one application into a suite.
"AW3 goes far above and beyond any other company of its kind. I have worked with them on many different apps, websites and projects and I have been consistently impressed. They have completed ahead of schedule and under budget." Liam McMullan, Founder and CTO, Wryter Inc.
