Merrill's Packaging: A New Website and Digital Strategy for a Manufacturer
Client: Merrill's Packaging, a custom thermoformed packaging manufacturer serving medical, retail, electronics, and food companies Our role: Web, brand, and digital strategy partner Scope: Website redesign in WordPress and Elementor, style guide, sales materials, photography, digital strategy
About Merrill's Packaging
Merrill's has made precision thermoformed packaging for more than six decades, with custom tooling, certified facilities, and customers among the world's leading brands.
The Challenge
The company's capabilities had outgrown its website. Engineers and buyers evaluating a packaging supplier want to see capacity, certifications, and sectors served within a minute or two. Merrill's needed a modern site its own team could maintain, consistent branding across sales channels, and a plan for the software behind its sales process.
What We Did
- Discovery: user personas, a review of customer and competitor sites, and a digital marketing strategy presented before design began
- Website: a full redesign and rebuild of merrills.com in WordPress with Elementor, so staff can edit pages without a developer
- Style guide: a brand guide covering logo use, color, and typography
- Product photography: direction of a product shoot that produced the imagery used across the site
- Sales and tradeshow presentation: a deck covering capacity, custom tooling, certifications, sectors, sustainability, and company history
- Design review form: an online intake process for new packaging projects
- Digital transformation strategy: a roadmap for the company's systems, with database and network diagrams
- Data tooling: a parser to clean and organize contact data
Outcome
Merrill's has a modern website at merrills.com, matching sales materials, and a documented plan for its digital systems.
Stack
WordPress and Elementor.
